Chamber tomb
Between the 7th and 6th centuries BC, the elites of Caere turned the tomb into a house for the dead, carving rooms into the tufa in the image of the living world.

The simulated beams, doorways and carved furnishings are precious evidence for reconstructing Etruscan houses, which have otherwise largely vanished.
